KEEP THE AIRCRAFT
AND UNLOAD THE UPKEEP
NO MORE BILLS WHEN YOUR PLANE SITS ON THE GROUND
If you already own a Hawker, Challenger 604/5 or G550, (to be) based in India, Gulf States or Singapore, you no longer need to carry the burden of ownership.
You did your part by acquiring the right aircraft, now you can Just Fly It.
Transfer your bird to a new nest and enjoy CareFree Ownership.
A Pre-Closing Adviser will guide you through the array of transfer options: first, whether you choose Free Ownership - which requires a Technical Acceptance of your aircraft - or traditional aircraft management - which is effectively an "as is" hand-over. Second, Free Ownership provides options to reset any Liabilities you may carry.
The Technical Acceptance into æry is similar to Engine or Airframe Hourly Programs acceptance, basically an abbreviated Pre-Purchase Inspection, covered by the Transfer Fee but excluding remediation of any found "squawks" (discrepancies).
Discrepancies (if any) and the accruals necessary to cover the pro-rated amounts for each inspection cycle (calendar and hourly) constitute the Maintenance Liabilities. For instance, if a 12 months Phase is due in 8 months and costs $30,000, you carry a $10,000 liability for that inspection. If already enrolled in an Hourly Program, liabilities should be offset by positive Program balance accruals.
You can choose to reset Maintenance Liabilities (if any): (1) at the outset, by escrowing the due accruals OR (2) on a rolling-basis, by remaining liable for one cycle of inspections until they all reset OR (3) by offsetting them against some of your Comped Hours entitlement.
Type of Operation
As a fresh Export Certificate of Airworthiness is a prerequisite, if you opted for traditional management your transfer is a simple exercise in moving the registration of your aircraft to your choice of US/FAA or San Marino. Your timeline is driven by where from you transfer; the re-registration and addition to our operator certificate(s) takes <30 days.
If a Technical Acceptance is required (under Free Ownership), a well-maintained aircraft should complete that process in 15 days, for an aggregated transfer timeline of 30 to 45 days.
As described above, even if resetting Maintenance Liabilities applies, æry offers the option of zero-cash-outlays (other than Transfer Fee). You can instantly unload the financial commitments of ownership without any further "investments", unlike say preparing an aircraft for sale.
Lastly, a slightly different process and airframe qualifications apply if you chose to make your aircraft available for non-owner revenue flights (required for Free Ownership and encouraged in traditional management). This is a transparent process to you as owner, basically a matter of checking different boxes in the Aircraft Management Mandate, facilitated by a Transaction Leader as single-point-of-contact.
Optional Refurbishing and Updating
Once the transfer is complete, your experience is identical to that of a New Buyer, reproduced here for your convenience.
Welcome to CareFree Ownership! The transfer is completed and your aircraft enters a new life, with all inspections up-to-date and no hidden maintenance liabilities. Depending on your preferences and airframe particulars, you might have decided it is a good time to consider installing / upgrading equipment or refurbishing / updating. We have extensive experience with the relative merits of various post-buy modifications, pinpointing to where you can unlock value with targeted frugal investments in a short downtime.
While completing optional mods obviously adds the return-to-service timeline, we do not relent from managing the project hands-on in the shop and with suppliers, mindful not to minimize downtime at the expense of work quality. Most projects worth undertaking cluster around 4 weeks.
The final decision on upgrades is yours, but we will assist in making it a most informed. one Any aircraft upgrading we endorse will unequivocally increase owner's value. However, in some instances, the effect on the residual-adjusted aircraft value could be more muted.
Return to Service
Climbing the familiar airstairs of your jet never felt so relaxing. If you opted for Free Ownership, your Flights are now on us (nearly hundred every year) and your last** ownership bill is in the past.
The Management Mandate captured your preferred framework and specifics for trip scheduling , e.g. guaranteed available days, advance notice, daily/flight minimums etc. As CareFree Ownership is a life-changing experience, we built-in the flexibility for you to revise (often, expand) these choices as your new utilization patterns emerge.
While your... financial experience will be radically different between Free Ownership and traditional management, your aircraft will experience the same pampered life. Regardless whether we pay the bills or you do, we maintain all aircraft with same exquisite care and thrift, literally as if they are our own. And you receive a monthly "account of our stewardship", even when not attached to a bill. Your personal Owner Concierge delivers our promise of Bespoke Service.
For financials of Free Ownership, please see æry economics.
As termination arrangements in traditional aircraft management vary greatly, we'll discuss here only the æry framework.
While we hope you will add aircraft to your fleet and we earn more of your business, we know circumstances change and believe you should have the freedom to leave æry at any time.
The compelling æry economics - starting with "all expenses included" Transfer fee - are only possible due to our non-transactional approach to acquisition and management. We effectively treat your aircraft as our own long-term investment, spreading upfront and unforeseen costs over the entire term. An Exit Fee, pro-rated over the Term agreed in the Management Mandate, compensates us for some of the losses stemming from having the Term shortened.
At the end of the Term you have the option to sell back the aircraft to us, at Fair Market Value (independently assessed) less a Re-Marketing Fee (customary terms). With Days-On-Market in aircraft sales counted in... years, æry makes even your Last Day of ownership CareFree.
As seasoned aircraft owners, transfer clients often have specific concerns about critical issues such as cost-control measures and revenue-to-owner models (under traditional aircraft management) or periodic aircraft updates and Airworthiness Directives (under Free Ownership), as well as unique æry perks such as Hours Exchange between aircraft classes and complementary Strato Club membership.
